For more than 20 years, Terry Grimes has represented clients in significant litigation in state and federal courts. He regularly appears in United States district courts, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and state courts in the Commonwealth. His practice focuses primarily on complex civil rights cases, employment law, business law and criminal law.

Recognized by his peers, he is regularly named as one of the top lawyers in the valley and Virginia, and was selected as one the best lawyers in the United States in 2007 and 2008. He has lectured on employment law in the United States and Europe.

Terry received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1978, a master’s degree from Oregon State University in 1981, and a doctorate of jurisprudence from the College of William and Mary in 1984. He served as a law clerk before judges of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C. before establishing practice in Roanoke, Virginia in 1986.
